Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Toss in the chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook about 5-7 minutes until apples get soft, stirring now and then. Pour in the cornstarch mix and cook another 1-2 minutes till everything thickens up. Take off heat and set aside to cool down.
02 -
Mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl until it's smooth with no lumps. Put aside for later.
03 -
Stretch your dough circles to 4-5 inches across if needed. Drop 1 tablespoon of the cheese mix and 1 tablespoon of apple mix in the middle of each circle. Fold over into a half-moon and press edges together with a fork. Pop them in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
04 -
Pour oil about 2 inches deep in a pan and heat to 175°C. Fry pies in small batches, just 2-3 at once, for about 2-3 minutes on each side till they turn golden. Move to paper towels to soak up extra oil.
05 -
For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla till smooth. Drizzle it on warm pies or dip them in. Serve while they're still warm for the best taste!
