04 - Salt and black pepper to season as you like
05 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder for a savory touch
06 - 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
07 - 1 tablespoon olive oil, perfect for frying

→ Honey BBQ Flavor Makers

08 - A scant half-cup (120ml) of barbecue sauce
09 - 2 tablespoons thick, sweet honey
10 - 1 zesty tablespoon of Dijon mustard
11 - 1 splashy tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
12 - A pinch of garlic powder, about 1 teaspoon
13 - Optional: ½ teaspoon chili powder for heat

→ Rice and Creamy Add-Ins

14 - 1 ¾ cups (420ml) of reduced-sodium beef broth
15 - 1 buttery tablespoon to sauté onions
16 - ½ cup (50g) shredded cheddar cheese, melty goodness
17 - 1 finely chopped small onion
18 - ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream for creaminess
19 - 3 fresh garlic cloves, minced
20 - Fresh parsley sprinkled for garnish
21 - 1 cup (180g) uncooked white rice (long-grain or jasmine works well)
22 - Use salt and pepper as seasoning to balance

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Mix garlic powder, soy sauce, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and some salt and pepper in a bowl. Coat the sliced steak, cover it, and let it soak up the flavors in the fridge for at least 15-60 minutes.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together honey, barbecue sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and chili powder if using. Hold onto it for later.
03 - Heat up a large skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Lay out the marinated steak in one layer, searing each side for 2-3 minutes until browned nicely. Remove it and tent it with foil.
04 - Turn down the heat a bit. Toss in butter, followed by chopped onion and minced garlic. Stir it around and cook for about 3-4 minutes until everything softens and smells amazing. Scrape up any browned bits as you go.
05 - Pour the uncooked rice into the skillet and toast it lightly for a minute or two. Add the broth, give it a good stir, and then let it boil. Cover with a lid and simmer on low until all the liquid is absorbed and rice fluffs up, about 15-18 minutes.
06 - Stir in heavy cream and cheese to the cooked rice. Keep stirring till the cheese melts into the rice and everything looks creamy. Add a pinch of salt or pepper if you think it needs more.
07 - Put the steak back into the skillet, juices included. Pour the honey BBQ sauce all over and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes so flavors come together and the sauce thickens.
08 - Take it off the heat, sprinkle parsley over, and bring it straight to the table!

# Additional Notes:

01 - Leave the steak in the marinade longer if you want deeper flavor.
02 - Want more spice? Just add extra chili powder!
