# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Dough

01 - 2 1/2 cups general-purpose flour
02 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
03 - 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
04 - 1 cup white sugar
05 - 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

→ Icing (optional)

06 - 1 cup confectioners' sugar
07 - Water or milk, enough to get the right consistency

# How to Make It:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F. Put parchment paper on two cookie sheets.
02 - Beat the room temperature butter with white and brown sugars in a big bowl until it looks pale and fluffy.
03 - Mix the general-purpose flour and salt together in another bowl.
04 - Slowly add your flour mixture into the butter mixture, stirring just until everything comes together.
05 - Drop equal amounts of dough onto your lined cookie sheets with space in between. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes until the edges turn golden brown.
06 - Take cookies out and let them cool all the way on a wire cooling rack.
07 - If you want icing, mix confectioners' sugar with a tiny bit of water or milk until it's runny but thick. Dribble it over the completely cooled cookies.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Make sure cookies are totally cool before you put icing on them or they'll get soggy.
