Teriyaki Turkey Lettuce Wraps (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

→ Teriyaki Sauce

01 - 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
02 - 1/4 cup water
03 - 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
04 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
05 - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
06 - 2 teaspoons minced garlic
07 - 1 teaspoon ground ginger
08 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
09 - 2 tablespoons warm water

→ Teriyaki Turkey Lettuce Wraps

10 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
11 - 1 pound ground turkey
12 - 1 cup finely chopped broccoli
13 - 2 large carrots, peeled and grated
14 - 1/2 cup diced onion
15 - 2 tablespoons minced garlic
16 - 8 large lettuce leaves (Romaine, Iceberg, or Butter Lettuce)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Mix soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, red wine vinegar, sugars, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir with a whisk until sugar is dissolved.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons warm water and cornstarch until cornstarch is completely dissolved. Slowly whisk the cornstarch mixture into the sauce, then heat over medium-high heat and simmer until thickened.
03 - Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and cook until soft.
04 - Crumble ground turkey and garlic into the skillet with the onions. Cook until the turkey is no longer pink.
05 - Add grated carrots and chopped broccoli to the skillet halfway through cooking the turkey, when it is still somewhat pink.
06 - Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the cooked turkey and vegetables. Stir to combine and simmer for about five minutes.
07 - Spoon the meat and vegetable mixture into individual lettuce leaves. Serve immediately.

01 - Homemade teriyaki sauce is quick to prepare, but prepackaged sauce can be substituted if preferred.
