01 -
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, dark cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gently whisk to blend evenly.
02 -
In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Pour wet ingredients into the flour-cocoa mixture, folding carefully until a smooth batter forms.
03 -
In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, large egg, and orange food coloring until creamy and well blended.
04 -
Pour most of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, reserving about 1 cup. Spread evenly. Spoon the cream cheese mixture in dollops over the surface, then add the reserved batter in between. Use a skewer or butter knife to gently swirl for a marbled pattern.
05 -
Bake on the center rack of the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
06 -
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely in the pan. Cut into squares and serve.
