# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Pastry Base

01 - 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

→ Cream Cheese Filling

02 - 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Strawberry Topping

05 - 1/2 cup strawberry jam or preserves
06 - 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

→ Egg Wash

07 - 1 large egg
08 - 1 tablespoon water

→ Finishing Touch

09 - Powdered sugar, for dusting or glaze (optional)
10 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for glaze (optional)
11 - 1–2 tablespoons milk, for glaze (optional)
12 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, for glaze (optional)

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
03 - On a lightly floured surface, unfold thawed puff pastry. Cut the sheet into 6 equal rectangles.
04 - Lightly score a 1/2 inch border around each pastry rectangle, ensuring not to cut all the way through to help create a crust.
05 - Within each bordered area, spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture. Layer with a teaspoon of strawberry jam and top with a few fresh strawberry slices.
06 - In a small bowl, beat the egg together with water. Brush the edges of each pastry with the egg wash.
07 - Transfer assembled pastries to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
08 - Allow pastries to cool for several minutes. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze, if desired.
09 - For a simple glaze, mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 1–2 tablespoons milk and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over cooled pastries if desired.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Ensure puff pastry is well-chilled before baking to achieve maximum flakiness.
