Shrimp Dirty Rice Bowl (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

→ Meat and Seafood

01 - 1 lb hamburger meat
02 - 1 lb ground pork sausage
03 - 10-12 shrimp, tail off and deveined

→ Grains and Liquids

04 - 4 cups cooked rice
05 - 2 cups chicken broth (use Better Than Bouillon chicken)

→ Vegetables

06 - 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers, chopped

→ Cooking Oils and Flour

07 - 3 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
08 - 1/4 cup flour

→ Seasonings

09 - 1 tsp seafood seasoning
10 - 1 tbsp oregano
11 - 3 tsp minced garlic
12 - 1 tsp thyme
13 - 1 tbsp garlic powder
14 - 1 tsp onion powder
15 - 1 tsp chili powder
16 - 1/2 tsp pepper, more to taste
17 - 1/2 tsp salt, more to taste
18 - Pinch of cayenne pepper

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Season the shrimp with seafood seasoning. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they curl into a 'C' shape. Remove from the pan and set aside.
02 - In a large skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the hamburger meat and ground pork sausage, cooking until they begin to brown.
03 - Add the chopped onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the skillet with the meats. Continue to cook until the meat is fully browned.
04 - Stir in the seasonings (oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper).
05 - Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well. Gradually add the broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer for 5-7 minutes.
06 - Add the cooked rice to the skillet and simmer for another 5 minutes.
07 - Return the shrimp to the skillet, mixing them in with the rice and meat. Cook until everything is heated through.
08 - Serve and enjoy!
