01 -
Warm up the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Toss in the chopped onion and all the minced peppers (green, red, orange) to cook and soften, stirring for around 5 minutes. Once done, take everything out of the pan.
02 -
Using the same skillet, add the ground beef and break it apart as it cooks on medium-high heat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper while browning. If there’s too much grease, carefully drain it off.
03 -
Dump the sautéed onion and peppers back in with the browned meat. Add cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, water, ketchup, and garlic powder. Stir really well and let it bubble and thicken as it cooks, stirring every so often.
04 -
Turn off the stove and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella or provolone all over. Stir until the cheese melts into the mix. Taste it, and if it needs a pinch of salt or pepper, toss some in.
05 -
Spoon the cheesy mixture onto the toasted burger buns. If you’re feeling fancy, throw a little extra cheese on top before serving.
