Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking trays with parchment paper.

In a bowl, stir together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda until mixed well.

Beat the softened butter with both sugars in a big bowl until the mix is fluffy and lighter in color.

Add ricotta cheese, egg, vanilla, orange zest, and orange juice to your butter mix. Stir till it’s all smooth.

Slowly fold the dry stuff into the wet mix until it just comes together. Don’t overdo it to keep things soft.

Gently mix in the chocolate chips. Toss in nuts and extra orange zest if you want a stronger citrus taste.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the lined trays, leaving 2 inches between each. Bake for 20–25 minutes till edges look golden.

Let the cookies chill on the trays for 5 minutes, then move them to a rack so they cool completely.
