# What You’ll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2.5 ml ground black pepper
02 - 2.5 ml salt
03 - 15 ml olive oil
04 - 225 g diced onion
05 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 225 g small dry pasta
07 - 283 g canned diced tomatoes
08 - 480 ml low-sodium chicken broth
09 - 450 g smoked kielbasa or turkey/chicken sausage, sliced 0.5 cm thick
10 - 120 ml milk or heavy cream

→ Finishing Ingredients

11 - 15 g thinly sliced scallions, for garnish
12 - 100 g shredded Cheddar cheese

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Add olive oil to a 4-5 litre sauté pan, heating it up on medium-high.
02 - Toss in the sliced sausage and diced onions. Cook until the sausage gets a nice color and the onions soften.
03 - Quickly mix in the minced garlic and stir it around for about 30 seconds, just until it smells fragrant.
04 - Pour in the chicken broth, diced tomatoes (with their liquid), dry pasta, milk or cream, salt, and black pepper. Combine everything by giving it a good stir.
05 - Turn the heat down to a gentle simmer. Let it cook without a lid for 15 minutes. Stir it now and then until the pasta soaks up the flavors and the sauce thickens.
06 - Take the pan off the heat and mix in half the shredded cheese. Keep stirring till it's melted and smooth.
07 - Spread the rest of the cheese on top, put a lid on, and let it melt till it's bubbly with a light golden color. Sprinkle scallions as a finishing touch and serve immediately.
