Mint Chocolate Mix (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 10 cups of Chex cereal (use either rice or corn type)
02 - 6 oz of candy melts in green
03 - 6 oz of chocolate chips
04 - 2 cups of powdered sugar, split into two portions

→ Mix-ins

05 - 1 cup of Andes mints, roughly chopped
06 - 1 cup of mint-flavored M&M's

# Instructions:

01 - Grab two big microwave-safe bowls, a few measuring cups, and some large zip bags. Measure out all your ingredients, and split the Chex cereal into two equal 5-cup portions.
02 - Put the chocolate chips into one of the microwave-safe bowls. Heat them up in the microwave for 15 seconds, stirring after each round, until they're fully melted and smooth. Be careful not to let it burn.
03 - Pour one of the 5-cup batches of Chex cereal into the bowl with melted chocolate. Mix gently to coat all the pieces evenly.
04 - Take 1 cup of powdered sugar and add it to the chocolate-covered cereal. Stir it well, or pop it into a zip bag, seal it, and shake until everything is coated in the sugar.
05 - Place the green candy melts in the second large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 10-second bursts, stirring after each one, until it's completely melted and smooth. Since these melts can burn easily, keep the heating intervals short.
06 - Drop the remaining 5 cups of Chex cereal into the bowl with the melted green candy. Stir gently to coat every piece.
07 - Transfer the green-coated Chex cereal into a big zip bag. Pour in the second 1 cup of powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake until all the pieces are evenly coated.
08 - Combine the chocolate-coated and green-coated cereal. Use either a very large zip bag or a big mixing bowl. If your bag isn't big enough, divide it into two smaller ones.
09 - Toss the chopped Andes mints and mint M&M's into the bag or bowl with the coated cereal. Shake the bag gently to mix or stir if you're using a bowl. Make sure the candies are spread out evenly.
10 - Put the muddy buddy mix in the fridge for about 10 minutes to let the coatings set properly.
11 - Dig in right after chilling or stash it in an airtight container for later. This snack will stay fresh at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

# Notes:

01 - To make the mint taste stronger, you can mix 1/4 teaspoon of mint extract into the melted chocolate.
02 - Feel free to swap the Andes mints with other mint-flavored treats like chopped peppermint patties or mint chocolate chips.
03 - For a festive twist (like for St. Paddy's Day), go for seasonal green mint M&M's if they're available.
04 - If you'd like to avoid messy hands, use disposable gloves or stick to the bag-shaking method for mixing.
