01 -
Grab a medium bowl and mix the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt together until everything's well combined.
02 -
Take another bowl and beat the whole milk, egg, and vanilla extract together until they're completely mixed.
03 -
Add your wet mix to the dry ingredients and stir just until you get a smooth batter. Don't mix too much or it'll get tough.
04 -
Lightly fold your chopped apples into the batter so they're spread out nicely.
05 -
Fill a deep pan with vegetable oil about 1 1/2 inches deep and warm it up to 350°F (175°C).
06 -
Drop small spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, leaving enough space between them. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes until they turn golden brown and cook all the way through.
07 -
Lift the fritters out with a slotted spoon and put them on paper towels to soak up extra oil.
08 -
Mix powdered sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until you get a smooth, pourable glaze.
09 -
Pour the glaze over your warm fritters. For a nice zing, squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top right before you serve them.
