Peel the potatoes, cut them into 1-inch cubes, rinse, and place them in a pot with cold water and a pinch of salt.

Bring the pot of water to a rapid boil on high heat, then reduce to medium-low and cook until the potatoes are tender.

Drain the cooked potatoes, then add cream cheese, butter, milk, black pepper, and optional seasonings. Mash until smooth and fluffy.

Add more milk if needed and adjust salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
