Marry Me Shrimp Pasta (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

→ Seafood

01 - 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

→ Pasta

02 - 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)

→ Sauce Components

03 - 3 tbsp olive oil
04 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
06 - 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
07 - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
08 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning
09 - Salt and pepper, to taste

→ Garnish

10 - Fresh basil or parsley, chopped

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of the pasta water. Set aside.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add the minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the broth and cream. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
04 - Gradually whisk in the Parmesan until the sauce is smooth. Stir in Italian seasoning. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper.
05 - Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. Add reserved pasta water, a little at a time, if the sauce is too thick.
06 - Divide among plates. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Reserve pasta water to help thin the sauce if needed - the starch in the water helps the sauce cling to the pasta.
02 - For the best flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese rather than pre-packaged.
