Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the chopped ham and shredded cheddar cheese. Pour in the milk and mix gently until the dough just comes together.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and pat it into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out biscuits using a cutter or glass.

Place the biscuits on the prepared baking tray. Brush the tops with melted butter. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve warm on their own or with a side of mustard or honey.
