01 -
Combine ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in a mixing bowl. Thoroughly mix and divide into 6 portions (approximately 1/3 lb each). Shape each portion into a patty, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate.
02 -
Preheat a grill or griddle over medium-high heat (400°F). Brush the cut sides of the buns with melted butter and toast them buttered-side down on the grill for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Set aside.
03 -
Spread oil over the preheated cooking surface. Place chilled patties on the grill and cover each with parchment paper. Press them with a burger press or spatula to form thin patties. Remove parchment and cook for 2-3 minutes until juices appear and surface changes color. Flip carefully without pressing again.
04 -
Cook the flipped patties for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Top each patty with a slice of American cheese and allow it to melt over the patties before removing from the grill.
05 -
Place a lettuce leaf and red onion slices on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add the cheese-covered patties, followed by tomato slices, then finish with the top bun. Serve immediately. Optionally, add mayo or burger sauce for extra flavor.
