Hungarian Cheese Bites (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
02 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
03 - 2 cups mashed potatoes (around 3 medium ones, cooked and mashed)
04 - 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
05 - 1/4 cup chopped green onions
06 - 2 large eggs
07 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
08 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
09 - Salt and black pepper as needed
10 - Vegetable or canola oil for frying

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Toss mashed potatoes, grated Parmesan, cheddar, flour, one egg, onion bits (if you’re adding them), garlic powder, salt, and pepper into a large bowl. Stir it all together until you get a dough that sticks together.
02 - Spread some flour on a clean surface. Take pieces of dough and roll them into logs that are about 1 inch thick and 3 inches long.
03 - Crack the second egg into a bowl and beat it. Put the breadcrumbs into another bowl nearby.
04 - Take each log and dip it in the beaten egg. Then roll it around in the breadcrumbs so it’s coated all over.
05 - Pour about an inch of oil into a large pan and heat it up on medium.
06 - Drop a few sticks into the hot pan at a time. Let them fry for 2–3 minutes per side, flipping them once they’re golden. Don’t pack too many in at once.
07 - Lay the fried sticks on paper towels to drain the extra oil. Serve them while they’re warm.
