Set your oven to 450°F (232°C) and preheat it.

Dump the self-rising flour into a big bowl and slowly add your liquid pick. Mix until the dough turns soft.

Move the dough onto a clean surface with a light flour dusting. Flatten it using light pressure until it's about half an inch thick.

Grab a glass or biscuit cutter to slice out circles. Lay them on an ungreased baking tray, leaving a little space for crispy edges or snug for softer sides.

Pop them in and bake for 10 to 12 minutes; you'll know they're done when they're golden on top.

Take the biscuits out and give them a moment to cool off. They're great warm with butter, jam, or anything you like.
