# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Dough

01 - 1 1/2 cups soft unsalted butter
02 - 2 cups white sugar
03 - 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
04 - 4 large eggs
05 - 5 cups plain flour
06 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
07 - 2 teaspoons salt

# How to Make It:

01 - Mix the soft unsalted butter, white sugar, and vanilla extract in a big bowl or stand mixer. Beat until the mix gets light and fluffy, about 3 minutes on medium speed.
02 - Drop in eggs one by one, mixing just enough to blend each egg before adding another.
03 - In another bowl, stir together the plain flour, baking powder, and salt until they're well mixed.
04 - Slowly add the dry mix into the butter mixture, stirring on low until you get a nice dough. Don't mix too much.
05 - Put the dough on a lightly floured counter and roll it out to how thick you want, usually about 1/4 inch (6 mm).
06 - Use cookie cutters to make shapes from the dough, then put them on a baking sheet about 2 inches (5 cm) apart.
07 - Cook in an oven heated to 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until the edges turn slightly golden. Switch the trays around if needed for even baking.
08 - Take the cookies out and let them sit on the tray for 5 minutes, then move them to a wire rack to cool all the way.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Make sure your butter is properly softened for best results. If you want cookies all the same size, chill your dough before rolling. Keep finished cookies in a sealed container to stay fresh.
