Crock Pot BBQ Chicken (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 2 lbs chicken breast
02 - 1 (18 oz) bottle barbecue sauce
03 - 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
04 - 2 tsp garlic, minced
05 - 1 tsp onion powder
06 - 1 tsp black pepper
07 - ½ tsp paprika
08 - 3 tbsp brown sugar

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Place chicken breasts in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
02 - Add BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, onion powder, black pepper, paprika, and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Whisk until well combined and pour over the chicken.
03 - Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours.
04 - Shred the chicken in the slow cooker with two forks. Then mix into the sauce.
05 - Serve on buns or over rice, and enjoy!

# Additional Notes:

01 - Select chicken breasts of similar size to ensure even cooking. If some are larger, consider cutting them in half to ensure everything finishes cooking at the same time.
02 - For particularly sweet BBQ sauce, add more apple cider vinegar. For tangy or spicy sauce, increase the brown sugar slightly to balance the flavors.
03 - For fall-apart tender chicken, cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours. Note that each slow cooker heats differently. The chicken is done when it reaches 165°F and pulls apart easily with forks.
04 - Leftovers maintain their flavor for up to 4 days refrigerated. Freeze portions for up to 3 months for quick weeknight meals.
