Creamy Pastrami Sandwich (Print-Friendly Version)

Creamy pastrami sandwich with Swiss, mustard, lettuce, and tomato on your favorite bread.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Sandwich Components

01 - 8 slices sandwich bread (rye, sourdough, or white as preferred)
02 - 1 pound sliced beef pastrami
03 - 8 slices Swiss cheese
04 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
05 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 1 cup shredded lettuce (optional)
07 - 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced (optional)
08 - 2 tablespoons butter for toasting (optional)

→ Creamy Spread

09 - 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
10 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

# How to Make It:

01 - In a small bowl, blend softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and onion powder until fully smooth.
02 - Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add sliced pastrami and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes or until warmed through.
03 - Generously spread the creamy mixture on one side of each bread slice.
04 - Place warm pastrami, Swiss cheese, shredded lettuce, and tomato slices on four bread slices with spread.
05 - Cover each assembled slice with another bread slice, creamy side facing down.
06 - For a golden crust, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Grill sandwiches for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until golden and cheese is melted.
07 - Cut each sandwich in half and serve warm.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Butter creates a crisp exterior if grilling, but sandwiches are also delicious untoasted.
02 - Allow cream cheese to reach room temperature for easier blending.
