Get your oven hot at 350°F. Coat or line a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan so your bread won't stick.

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl with a whisk.

In a bigger bowl, stir melted butter and sugar until smooth. Drop in eggs one by one, making sure they blend well. Add vanilla and buttermilk, stirring until everything's mixed.

Slowly add the dry stuff to the wet stuff. Don't mix too much, just until they're combined. This keeps your bread soft.

Dump the batter into your ready pan. Flatten the top a bit and sprinkle that coarse sugar all over.

Stick it in your hot oven for 30 to 45 minutes. It's done when you poke it with a toothpick and nothing sticks. Let it cool before you cut it.
