Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely ground. Alternatively, crush cookies in a large ziplock bag using a rolling pin.

Transfer Oreo crumbs to a large mixing bowl. Add softened cream cheese and blend thoroughly until uniform and smooth.

Shape mixture into 1-inch balls and arrange on a parchment- or wax paper-lined baking sheet.

Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until completely smooth.

Coat each Oreo ball in melted chocolate and return them to the baking sheet. Decorate immediately with festive sprinkles if desired.

Allow the chocolate coating to set fully. For faster results, refrigerate the coated balls for approximately 20 minutes before serving.
