Chicken Chow Mein (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
02 - 3 tbsp oil
03 - 12 oz uncooked chow mein noodles
04 - 2 cups cabbage, shredded
05 - 1 large carrot, julienned
06 - 1/2 bunch green onions, chopped
07 - 2 garlic cloves, minced

→ Chow Mein Sauce

08 - 6 tbsp oyster sauce
09 - 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
10 - 3 tbsp light sesame oil (not toasted)
11 - 1/2 cup chicken broth
12 - 1 tbsp corn starch
13 - 1 tbsp granulated sugar

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a small mixing bowl, whisk together oyster sauce, granulated sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth and cornstarch until well combined. Set aside.
02 - Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain, rinse with cold water and set aside.
03 - Heat a large wok or pan with oil over medium heat. Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized strips and cook until golden brown. Remove strips and set aside.
04 - In the same pan, add julienned carrots, shredded cabbage and minced garlic. Sauté for a few minutes until vegetables are slightly softened and cabbage becomes somewhat translucent.
05 - Return chicken and noodles to the pan. Pour the prepared sauce over the ingredients and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring to combine everything evenly.
06 - Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately while hot.

# Additional Notes:

01 - When using cooked Chow Mein Noodles, the weight should measure approximately 1 lb.
