Joe Bake (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1/2 cup ketchup
02 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
03 - 1 cup crushed crackers or crispy fried onions (optional)
04 - 1 pound ground beef or turkey
05 - 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
06 - 1 green bell pepper, chopped into small bits
07 - 1 can of tomato sauce (15 oz)
08 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
09 - 3 cups of any cooked pasta you like (macaroni or penne)
10 - 1 small onion, finely diced
11 - 2 cups shredded cheddar, used in two parts
12 - Salt and pepper, adjust to your taste
13 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Switch on your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch dish so nothing sticks.
02 - In a big pan, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned. Get rid of any extra fat. Toss in the chopped onion, diced bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook for 5 minutes or until they soften up nicely.
03 - Mix in the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Don’t forget the salt and pepper. Let it cook gently on low heat for about 5-10 minutes to blend the flavors.
04 - Stir the beef mixture into the pasta in a big bowl. Mix in a cup of shredded cheddar. Spread everything out evenly in your greased dish.
05 - Cover the casserole with the last cup of cheddar cheese. Add crushed crackers or fried onions if you want an extra crunch.
06 - Bake everything in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. It’s done when the cheese is melted and bubbling.
07 - Take the dish out and let it sit for a few minutes before serving it up.
