Set your oven to 400°F. Scoop out 2 tablespoons of crumbled bacon to use for topping later on.

Toss together the chicken, most of the bacon crumbles, sour cream, ranch seasoning, shredded cheese, and cream of chicken soup in a big mixing bowl until they're all blended well.

Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan, pour in the mixture, and smooth it out. Lay the tater tots on top in a single, even layer.

Pop it in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes. Keep an eye out for golden, crispy tater tops and bubbling edges.
