# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Filling

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 1 pound ground beef
03 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 teaspoon ground cumin
06 - 1 teaspoon paprika
07 - Salt and black pepper, to taste
08 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

→ Dough and Assembly

09 - 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (14 ounces)
10 - 1 egg, beaten
11 - All-purpose flour, for dusting

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened and translucent.
03 - Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly.
04 - Add ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned. Stir in ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook until beef is fully cooked.
05 - Remove skillet from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and evenly blended with the beef.
06 - On a floured work surface, roll out pie crusts. Using a 4-inch round cutter, cut dough into circles.
07 - Place a spoonful of beef and cheese mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon, then seal with a fork by crimping the edges.
08 - Brush the tops of the empanadas with beaten egg for a golden finish.
09 - Arrange empanadas on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Avoid overfilling to prevent the empanadas from leaking during baking.
