BBQ Sausage Bites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 packages (14 ounces each) smoked sausage
02 - 1 cup barbecue sauce
03 - 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
04 - 1 tablespoon dijon mustard

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
02 - Slice the smoked sausage into 1-inch coin shapes.
03 - In the prepared baking dish, add the sliced smoked sausage, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and dijon mustard. Stir together until evenly combined.
04 - Bake for 45 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly, darker in color, and thickened. Stir the mixture a couple of times during baking to ensure the sausages are well coated.
05 - Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer, or as a side dish. Optionally, serve alongside mac & cheese for a kid-friendly meal. If keeping warm for a party, bake as directed, then transfer to a slow cooker on the WARM setting for 2-3 hours.

# Notes:

01 - Use any variety of smoked sausage, such as cheddar, jalapeno cheddar, beef, or turkey. Slice them for even cooking.
02 - Swap smoked sausage for Little Smokies to save time on slicing.
03 - Pick a barbecue sauce you love; it will define the flavor. Use spicy sauce for a kick or sweet sauce for a milder taste.
04 - Spice it up with red cayenne pepper, chili flakes, or hot sauce for added heat.
