Preheat oven to 375°F. Pat chicken breasts dry, then season each side with salt and black pepper.

Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts for 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Transfer chicken to a baking dish.

In a bowl, mix together ranch dressing, minced garlic, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.

Pour ranch mixture evenly over the seared chicken. Sprinkle chopped bacon and the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Remove from oven. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon if desired. Serve immediately.
