Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook turkey bacon until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess fat.

Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. These buttered sides will face outward.

Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, on a clean surface. On each, layer one slice cheddar cheese, an even layer of apple slices, two slices turkey bacon, and another slice cheddar cheese. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.

Bring a skillet or griddle to medium heat. Place the assembled sandwiches on the skillet. Cook each side for 3–4 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.

Remove sandwiches from heat, slice in half, and serve immediately while hot.
