Amish Hamburger Steak Bake (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

→ Hamburger Steaks

01 - 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
02 - 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
03 - 1 large egg
04 - 1 tsp garlic powder
05 - 1 tsp onion powder
06 - Salt and pepper, to taste

→ Sauce

07 - 1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
08 - 1/2 cup milk
09 - 1 small onion, thinly sliced
10 - 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
11 - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

→ Topping

12 - Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Form the mixture into 4-6 oval patties.
03 - In a skillet over medium heat, sear each patty for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned but not fully cooked through. Transfer the patties to the prepared baking dish.
04 - In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Pour this mixture over the hamburger steaks in the baking dish. Scatter sliced onions and mushrooms (if using) over the top.
05 - Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and the steaks are cooked through.
06 - Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Substitute cream of chicken soup if you don't have cream of mushroom.
02 - For a lower-carb option, use almond flour instead of breadcrumbs in the patties.
