# What You’ll Need:

→ Basic Patty Pan Squash

01 - 2 lb patty pan squash, cut into uniform pieces
02 - 2 tbsp olive oil
03 - 1 tsp sea salt
04 - 1/2 tsp black pepper

→ Optional Flavor Boosters

05 - 2 tsp Italian seasoning
06 - 1 tsp garlic powder
07 - 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Cut the patty pan squash into uniform pieces, either halved, quartered, or sliced into wedges if larger.
02 - Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). In a large bowl, toss the patty pan squash with olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and any desired flavor boosters. Transfer to a baking sheet and arrange cut side down in a single layer. Roast for 15-20 minutes until tender and golden brown on the bottom, stirring halfway for even browning if desired.
03 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the squash and arrange cut side down in a single layer, seasoning with salt, pepper, and any flavor boosters. Sear for 3-5 minutes without moving until golden on the bottom. Flip and repeat until golden on the other side. Work in batches if needed.
04 - Heat a grill to medium-high heat. Toss the patty pan squash with olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and flavor boosters if desired. Grill each piece for 2-3 minutes per side until tender and grill marks form.
